CAN PAIN FEEL DURING CANAL TREATMENT?

Before root canal treatment, the teeth and surrounding tissues are anesthetized with local anesthesia. The patient does not feel pain during the treatment. In some cases, the patient may feel a little discomfort. Such situations are easily resolved with auxiliary anesthesia techniques.

 

 

HOW LONG DOES İT TAKE TO COMPLETE THE ROOT CANAL TREATMENT?
Root canal treatment can take approximately 30 to 90 minutes. This period varies according to the number of roots in the tooth and the anatomical structure of the tooth. Although single-session treatments are mostly performed, in cases such as infection and root canal recurrence, treatment may be required in more than one session by placing medication inside the tooth.

 

 

 

IS IT NECESSARY TO HAVE ANOTHER PROCEDURE AFTER CANAL TREATMENT?
After root canal treatment, the upper restoration of the tooth is required. Repairing the hard tissue loss in the tooth and restoring the tooth correctly is very important for the success of root canal treatment. After the root canal treatment, the teeth with less material loss are filled, while the teeth with more material loss are treated such as onlays or veneers. The restoration phase is very important for the tooth to stay in the mouth longer.

The chances of success are quite high in well-done root canal treatments. However, in some cases, re-infection may occur. In such cases, treatments such as retreatment or extraction are applied depending on the condition of the tooth. Although the repetition of root canal treatment is a more difficult and longer treatment than the first root canal treatment, it provides great benefits in terms of keeping the tooth in the mouth in appropriate cases and when applied correctly.
