Born in Germany in 1983, Serpil Öztürk Gürtekin graduated from Istanbul University, Faculty of Dentistry in 2007 with a Master's degree. In 2007, she started to work on 'Temporomandibular Joint Disorders' in the Orofacial Pain Department at the same time with her doctorate education at Yeditepe University, Faculty of Dentistry, Department of Prosthetic Dentistry. By presenting her thesis in 2011, she gained the title of "Prosthetic Dentistry Specialist" by the Ministry of Health.

She worked as a Prosthetic Dentistry Specialist at Hisar Intercontinental Hospital, Hospitadent Dental Hospital, Dentopol Oral and Dental Health Center and in her own clinic.
